Current Event

The Shannon Daley Memorial Fund is proud to announce its 7th Annual Golf Tournament. The Fund was established to help local area families who are suffering financial hardship due to a child battling serious illness. The first family is the Downey family from Somerville whose 4 year old child Charlotte had Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return at birth. The second family is the Wittkop family from Lebanon Township whose 2 year old Jacob has Cerebral Palsy.

The 7th Annual Shannon Daley Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Monday June 30th, 2008 at the Copper Hill Country Club in Ringoes, New Jersey. There will be a noon start time with sign ups beginning at 10:30 am. Lunch will be served at 11 am. For more information on the course, go to www.copper-hill.com.

The entry fee will be $195 per person, which will include golf, cart, lunch, dinner, open bar during dinner, awards, and prizes. Individual players and foursomes are invited to play in this charity event. It will be a scramble format.

We have sponsorships ranging from co-sponsoring the event, sponsoring specific contests such as closest to the pin, and individual hole sponsorships starting at $100. Your name will be prominently displayed with whatever type of messaging you choose and your business will be mentioned in a program given out at the event.

We also have a need for auction items, raffle prizes, and door prizes. Any prizes donated will be clearly marked with the name of the donator. All donations will be listed in the program as well.

Past Events

The Shannon Daley Memorial Fund first event took place January 29, 2002. The event consisted of a basketball game played at Hunterdon Central Regional High School Fieldhouse pitting League All- Stars vs. Jason Williams"All for One" squad. Attendance exceeded 2,000 spectators. The Fund was able to raise over $35,000 which was split between two seriously ill children's families.

The second event was conducted June 17, 2002. It was the inaugural Shannon Daley Memorial golf tournament held at Oak Hill CC. This event's recipient was a twenty one-year old girl battling inoperable brain cancer. The Event raised near $20,000.

The third event was conducted March 15, 2003. It was the 2nd Annual Shannon Daley Memorial classic basketball game that was played between our League All-Stars vs. the 86' & 90' NY Giants Superbowl champs. The location once again was Hunterdon Central Regional High School Field House. Attendance was approx 1500. The event raised near $25,000 which benefited another seriously ill girl and her family and a $5K donation in memory of a recently deceased local teacher for local school defibulators.

The second annual Shannon Daley Memorial golf tournament was held on June 16, 2003 and raised $13,000 to benefit a seriously ill teenage girl battling inoperable brain cancer and her family.

The third winter basketball event was conducted February 25, 2004. It was played between our League All-Stars vs. Darryl Dawkins & his friends and family. The location once again was Hunterdon Regional High School Field House. Attendance was over 1500. The event raised over $37,000 which benefited a family whose 7 year old son died days before the event. Scott Lysenko of Somerset was battling a genetic disease that caused cancerous tumors. We donated $12,500 to the Lysenko's. The Fund also donated $25,000 to the Bennett family who has two children with Batten's disease, a fatal genetic disease without a cure.

The third Annual Shannon Daley Memorial golf tournament was held on Monday June 28, 2004. The event took place at Copper Hill CC in Flemington, NJ. The event raised $30,000.00 for the Bennett children, Conor and Lucie, who are battling a degenerative genetic disease without a cure.The third Annual Shannon Daley Memorial golf tournament was held on Monday June 28, 2004. The 4th annual Shannon Daley Memorial Classic basketball game was played on March 14, 2005 against Bobby Hurley, Jr., Dan Hurley, Jerry Walker, and a contingent of St. Anthony Jersey City team player alums. The event was a huge success.

The 5th annual Charity Basketball Event was held on March 30, 2006 and saw the Readington Men's All Star Team take on the"New Jersey Hoop Legends." As always, the night was a great success and was a lot of fun for all involved. Click here for an article about the event.
